So I'm at my mum's now.
Her internet is rubbish so I don't know if I'll even get to post this, but fingers crossed.
Worked last night, and I was really tired by the time I got there, which is never a good thing. I worked at the cafe 9.30am till 5pm, then didn't start work till 11.30pm. I hate it when that happens, because by 11 I'm ready for bed, but I actually have to leave the house and go to work instead. I do it every Saturday though, so I don't know why it was so hard this time, but yeah. It just was.
So I was in a bit of a bad mood from being tired when I got there, and it only got worse when I got down to my bar and saw who I was working with. Now that sounds harsh. Everyone is really nice at work, but sometimes you can get a really shit deal with the bars.
There are seven bars, but we dont always have them all open. Last night we only had four open. Each bar has to have at least one supervisor on it, and then a few bar staff. I was on bar 4 which is the biggest one we had open yesterday, and the supervisor we got was Scott. I don't really get on with Scott anymore, because he is the cloakroom supervisor, and one time I worked with him he let some guy give me shit for 10 minutes, refused to get security to help me and was generally a prick and I ended up having to report him about it to my manager (who sided with me btw).
It's also annoying that he is put as a bar supervisor, when he doesn't actually know how to work the bar, because he is the cloakroom guy, but that's a whole new complaint. So while that's annoying enough, I was the only member of bar staff that wasn't new. Lame. It's really annoying working on a bar that size with people that don't really know what they're doing. I got frustrated a lot, and stood on and bumped into and gah! I know it's mean because I've been doing it loads longer than them, but it's fucking annoying when people don't know how to be on a bar without clogging it.
Luckily it was a pretty quiet night compared to how it normally is, and it was really busy last week, so we were actually overstaffed for once. I took full advantage of this and kept finding reasons to leave the bar and get ice or pick up cups.
My flatmate Becky was in, and she came and found me to dance with me when a bowling for soup song came on (I want to marry bowling for soup) but I was still a little grumpy heh. The music was pretty awesome though and I had a good singalong to a few songs.
My friend Matt cheered me up when I got swapped onto his bar for a bit, cause we were messing around for a bit, I tried to pick him up on my shoulders while he was trying to pull a pint haha, professional? Me? Always.
I'd lent his ex one of my hoodies, and she'd left it at his before she moved out, so I had asked him to look for it. He told me he'd brought it in, but when he first left he'd forgotten it, so he went back and then was late and had to get a taxi into work. I said he hadn't needed to, but he said he did because it was for me :) He can be such a sweet boy when he tries :)
Eventually I got bored and at about half 2 I went up to see Luke and persuaded him it was quiet enough to send me home and he did! haha I'm cheeky. On my way out I bumped into Tom, who was a regular customer I had a crush on, but I hadn't seen for ages. He was excited to see me and gave me a hug and told me he'd been in Australia and that's why he hadn't been in. It was nice to see him and cheered me up some more :)
Had to get up again this morning, worked till 5, and managed to get a train I didn't know was running at 5.15 to get here. Pretty good going. Work today was ok, I was a little grumpy at first cause I was tired, but everyone knows I'm always grumpy on Sundays, so I just hid in the kitchen and did pot wash.
Gonna try and finish reading Digging to America now, borrowed it off my mum ages ago and keep forgetting to finish it. I don't really want to take it back with me now, so hopefully I'll have it done by tomorrow night. I want to take Sophie's World back with me instead :)
